TSQCD9035 PERU NEGRO - Jolgorio

This story starts in the early 1700s when Peru’s slaves were banned from using drums. Their rhythmical songs were adapted to the cajón—a wooden box of agricultural origins and a mainstay in Black Peru. A hybridization of African, Indian, Latin, and European music evolved over the next 200 years, but in the late 1950s the African elements of Peruvian music were reborn. On January 20, 2004, Perú Negro, the only Afro-Peruvian performance troupe to last 35 years, releases Jolgorio.

TSQCD9034 GENO DELAFOSE - Everybody's Dancin'

There is this other way of life in the south; a musical ethnicity that has simmered itself to a uniquely homespun flavor. Immersed in the culture since birth, Geno Delafose has lived the life of a true cowboy. He relies on his traditional Creole sensibility for guidance in music, and divides his time between touring and operating his Double D Ranch outside of Eunice, deep in Southwest Louisiana’s bayou country, where he breeds cattle and raises quarter horses.

TSQCD9033 MARIZA - Fado Curvo

Mariza: The bulk of Fado Curvo was recorded live and direct in the studio, with the emphasis on ambience rather than technical perfection. The most part of the material was made at the third take. When you go further than that, the feeling start to be mechanical and you dont have nothing. With this record everybody was in the mood to do everything with soul. The idea is to have the real sound of everything. The truth, the true sound. And I think we got it”. Written by John Lusk, fRoots-UK

TSQCD9031 A Tribute To AMALIA RODRIGUES

Producer, composer and guitarist of Amália, Jorge Fernando wanted to mark this by a tribute album consisting largely of
songs they had worked on together. Jorge explains about the artist contributing to the project: "I thought about the
people that I’m sure Amália would have liked to hear singing," he explains. "The project involves all kinds of people, different
generations and different kinds of music."
